My Feel-Good Morning Routine

With Slow Fashion Pioneer @hannahbeaumontlaurencia

As CEO of conscious clothing brand, Beaumont Organic, Hannah, like us, is a champion of nature-driven self-care. We’re obsessed with her feed, filled with calming snapshots of her home, mindful living tips and the cutest pup. Here, she shares her soothing morning ritual that’s in tune with her positive, ‘slow it down’ philosophy.

I start with a potter about the bedroom, letting the light in. I don’t really have a set wake-up time, but always leave an hour for my routine. I then head into the kitchen to make my hot water with apple cider vinegar – I’ve been drinking it for years as I really think it helps my gut and skin.

Next, it’s on the mat for yoga for 30 minutes to an hour. I started yoga after a back injury in 2013 and it was part of my rehab. At the time I was running a lot and realised that yoga actually made me feel healthier both physically and mentally, while being much gentler on my body.

I finish up with a 7-minute silent meditation and my daily journalling (using my Mål Paper daily planner). I truly believe that if you set clear intentions at the beginning of each day, you’ll achieve them. I note how I want to feel rather than actual things I want to do.

I always light a candle for my meditation – since losing my grandma in 2022, it helps me feel more connected to her. Molton Brown’s Orange & Bergamot candle smells amazing, burns down evenly and is nicely packaged in a brown glass which I’ll use often for a little plant.

Next, I take a shower, usually sat down in the bath which is more relaxing – something I learnt from my husband who used to shower this way in Portugal, his home country.

I love Coastal Cypress & Sea Fennel Infinite Bottle’s design and the fact that it’s refillable – I consciously avoid single-use items. As consumers, we have the power to spend our money where we feel it's worthy and for me that’s with businesses making beautiful, innovative things, but doing it correctly for the people and the environment.

Then I dress up, finish with a few spritzes of Jasmine & Sun Rose Eau de Toilette which I find so delicate and understated that I wear it every day. I leave for my studio - Beaumont Organic HQ in Manchester city centre – on my bike with Lola.

My top sustainable living tips:

  1. Cycling is one I'm very proud of – we went carless a year and a half ago and cycle everywhere now.

  2. Resell and repair where you can – I like to keep a minimal wardrobe and keep reselling to achieve this.

  3. Air-freshen your wool clothes – natural fibres can clean in the air – and only wash things when they need it.

  4. Shop local to avoid all the excess plastic that supermarkets use – also you know where the food has come from and how fresh it is.

  5. Use refill stores for all your seeds, nuts, pulses, washing up liquid, etc.
